IMPACT
Our outreach impacts hundreds of young people, families, and adults in our greater community providing education, community-building, and active fun in safe, structured and flexible outdoor environments. Our partnerships with community organizations, area professionals, schools, volunteers, and generous sponsors make it all possible. Check out the impact of some of our most beloved annual events.

HUNTER SAFETY COURSE
Yearly Enrollment: up to 200
Two sessions of the Hunter Safety Course offered annually in the summer provide area youth with essential knowledge and skills to be safe, responsible, conservation-minded hunters. Completion of the course is required to purchase a first-time hunting license in Vermont. The course is taught by qualified volunteers.

HAUNTED FOREST
Annual Participation: Over 500
This annual event engages local high school students and community members is building sets and structures and decorating the property for our interactive Haunted Forest. High School students earn community service hours. Adolescent and adult guests experience a terrifying good time on our expansive grounds!

SUMMER DAY CAMPS
Annual Participation: up to 600
Our day camps are scheduled throughout the summer in partnership with our area schools and provided structured and flexible interactive and hands-on activities under our pavilion and across our grounds. Students enjoy meals, games, exercise, and community-building under the care and supervision of school staff.

VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE
Annual Participation: 6 teams + spectators
Our volleyball courts provided summer fun, camaraderie, exercise, and friendly-competition to community members. Capacity for 6 teams playing simultaneously. The league is active May-September each year and consistently draws up to 50 spectators. Players and spectators enjoy our property and food we provide for sale.

FISHING DERBY
Annual Participation: Over 200
Our annual Fishing Derby takes place at our pond on East Bakersfield Road on the 2nd Saturday in June and regularly draws participation of 200 or more! It is a highly anticipated event that always signals the beginning of summer here at the LJWMYF! This family-oriented day of fishing concludes with a plethora of high-value prizes including apparel, gear, and a bicycle!

FARMER'S MARKET
Annual Participation: 100 per event
Our Farmer's Market events are scheduled between May and July and attract approximately 100 guests on each date. Local vendors set up booths and sell an assortment of items including garden produce, handcrafted merchandise, and baked goods. This event creates community connection, relationship-building, networking, while giving local entrepreneurs, growers, and producers a venue to connect with customer

EASTER EGG HUNT
Annual Participation: 200 or more
This local partnership with area volunteers brings adults, children, and families to our property for an extravagant Easter Egg hunt. Volunteers work tirelessly to collected donated treats and eggs, assemble, and distribute them for this one-day event - rain or shine!

POND STOCKING
Annual Participation: 50 or more
Vermont Fish & Wildlife has supported our Fishing Derby event for 24 years, providing more than 1,000 fish to stock the pond. Up to 50 volunteers including youth and adults help with stocking! High school students earn community service hours.

YOUTH VOLUNTEERING
Annual Participation: Over 100
Young people have many opportunities throughout the year to practice citizenship, community-building, and volunteerism by supporting our events through set up, decorating, facilitating, and more!
